Is it time for a vision board refresh?

I have had the SAME vision board since I started my business back in 2010.

This morning it fell off the wall above the aforementioned whiteboard where it normally hangs forgotten. I looked at it and realized it was time for a refresh.

Yep. I have had the SAME vision board. How? What I do now is NOTHING like what I did or thought I wanted to do back then.

Every time I look at it I am surprised how many of the desires have remained the same. And let's be honest the mere idea of starting from scratch is a little overwhelming.

However, I LOVE the process of a vision board refresh.

I never have to start from a blank slate (part of the reason I love a website refresh, no need to start from scratch!).

I start by asking myself what I want business and life to look like AND what I want it to FEEL like.

Then I look at the board and see what I need to let go of, what is keeping me bound too tightly to a past dream. I peel them off. Yep - I just simply remove (or cover up) what I don't want and throw it away.

Then I look for inspiration to add in what's missing.

This morning a few words from Flow magazine - "working differently" and "be brave," some stickers), and a few more homages to magic and creativity.

Everything else stayed the SAME.

All in all, it took me about 30 min and it's back up on the wall to be forgotten until next time.

I love a vision board, even when they are mostly forgotten.

They help to hold space for my dreams, even when I get caught up in the craziness of the day to day. Because, let's be clear with 4 dogs, 4 cats, 3 Kids, clients, and a Rob life get's a little chaotic at times.
